Einwood

Einwood, a real alternative to exotic hardwoods, is a wood/plastic composite (WPC) building material, is composed of scrap wood and recycled plastic (PP). It is 80+% recycled content by weight.  It can be used in place of wood in most exterior applications (non-structural). It looks like Ipe with the performance you expect from a composite and no deforestation guilt! Einwood’s versatility and practicality make it an exciting option for indoor applications such as overhead partial visual barriers, curved design elements, seating and glossy, decorative touches.

Key Benefits

Superior Performance

Einwood looks, feels and even smells like rare tropical hardwoods; yet is rot-proof, guaranteed splinter-free and non-slip, and is resistant to insects and fungal infection. Einwood is durable, colorfast, and weather- and water-resistant, and easy to clean with soap and water or light sanding.

Versatile

Just about anything you can imagine can be built in Einwood. With so many appearance and performance advantages, the true magic of Einwood lies in its versatility. Create your own use for this incredible design material. Available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. Curvable and coatable for creative designs and finishes!

Sustainable & Green

Because Einwood is made of scrap wood and post-consumer plastic, the production of Einwood leaves a much smaller carbon footprint than wood or other composites. There are no potentially harmful fumes, because Einwood is completely non-toxic. In fact, it smells like real wood!

Einwood, based in Japan, launched in the summer of 2014 in the U.S. at Dwell on Design show in Los Angeles and the AIA Conference in Chicago. Einwood has been making its WPC product since the early 1990s.
